Art e Zine

I just wrote this great post, pushed the #8 button and BAM... everything is gone. With that said I am not re-writing it.

Instead I am going to send you over to look at Art-e-Zine for some fun art and tons of artsy resources. If you are an artist and have never been to this site please schedule some time to spend perusing, viewing, reading and learning.

On a side note I've posted a few more new pieces of art on my site (examples of my work are in this post, London & Venice). I have over 50 pieces to post and will get them up this week. A sneak peak here of one of my favorites. Travel Art. I'll be talking more and more about Travel Art in the weeks and months to come.

Happy Holidays!

Lots & Lots of New Work

I have lots and lots of new work available. This piece is made on handmade paper I made. It is a combination of acrylic, pencil and oil pastel. Looks like there is a bit of pen in it as well and collage. No name yet..... in due time.

Holiday Stocking

My grandmother made a red felt stocking for me with a pretty angel and my name....I think before my first Christmas. I have used this same stocking my whole life and unless something drastic happens I plan to use it for another 50 or 60 years. However, I saw this really cute stocking on Etsy today and think it is really cool.

Seller Sneaky Moose Stockings has this and several other pretty stockings.

Holiday Dressing from Etsy

For some reason today I started to think about putting together an entire outfit with pieces exclusively found on Etsy. Has to be something I would wear and affordable. I looked for shoes but to my surprise there was not a single pair of women's shoes on Etsy. I can't believe there isn't even altered women's shoes. ??

The other condition is the clothes could be worn during the day and then in to the night for a holiday party. Must be comfortable.
So I came up with this little group.
Blouse is $40 and can be found at JAIvo
Scarf is $23 and can be found at Stevester
Finally these are very cool pants. They look sort of strange but made out of comfortable cotton they roll at the top and come to about your ankle. You can find these pants at Inspired By Me and the cost is $17.99. PLUS the pants come in about 10 different colors. But I thought this color was pretty for the holidays, with the eggplant scarf and pretty structured shirt.... a nice pair of shoes and you've got it! Total cost $80.99 before shipping.
I need to remember to Kaboodle all this....

FREE Collage Sheet

As you can see from my previous post I am working on a bunch of new art right now. As I go through my archives of images I am finding things I'd forgotten I had. So, I thought I'd share with you artsy folks out there.

You should be able to click on the photo that will then show it larger and right mouse click and Save As . If you go to print it out you'll either have to resize it or half size. All of the images are copy right free except maybe the Jean-Paul Hevin Chocolatier. (But, if I were to wager a guess they wouldn't mind a little promotion as long as you don't go crazy. If you do decide to go crazy then you should contact them directly. ) I found this little chocolatier on my first visit to Paris about a block from Place de la Vendome. Sublime.
As always I love to see what you create so feel free to send me your art and I'll publish it here. And, if you have questions about any of the images let me know.
xoxo

Traci Bautista

A couple of months ago while attending Art & Soul in Portland I took a class from Traci Bautista. She was so easy going and the class was overwhelming. Honestly, if you saw what I made in the class you'd wonder. I think Traci wondered too but she was to nice to say anything. LOL!

This last week I was making some paper canvases that I learned how to make in her class and also in her book Collage Unleashed and decided to take a couple of photos of what I'm working on for an upcoming show.

I have an art show in San Francisco on the 14th of December, KPFA Arts & Crafts Fair. Come visit me I'll have ALL new work plus a few limited edition jewelry pieces in mixed media gift boxes.
